How to fight body acne with the two best products for sensitive skin

By Katarina Stamenković

Sensitive skin and its fight against acne

Skin is the most delicate and the biggest organ in the human body. This is the only organ that is being exposed to damaging UV lights, natural weather, and outside factors that may harm it on a daily basis.

In order to protect the skin, as well as remove all of its irregularities, every one with sensitive skin should discover proper skincare products that won’t cause any bad effects. Sensitive skin is keen on having lots of bad reactions to certain products. There’s a way to stop that, and that is why we will introduce you to the wonderful act of exfoliating, as well as two best products for sensitive and any other skin type, to take control over your acne.

You may be asking yourself, what is exfoliating and what does it do? Well, exfoliating is the act of removing dead skin cells. While the human body does naturally shed dead skin cells once a month, there’s always a few dry skin cells here and there that make your otherwise healthy skin flaky and dry. An excess of dead skin cells can also clog up your pores.

So how will your skin improve after exfoliation? Well first off, it will make your skin look a lot brighter, it will clean up your pores, and while doing so, it will minimize acne breakouts. If you keep exfoliating your skin regularly, it will increase your collagen production. Collagen is the most common protein in our body, which increases skin elasticity. This protein, in turn, will minimize the appearance of fine lines and sagging. Exfoliating also removes toxins that our body removes through our skin.

  • Types of exfoliating

There are two ways that you can exfoliate your skin: mechanical and chemical.

Mechanical exfoliating involves you physically scrubbing your skin. This method usually includes the use of abrasives such as sea salt, sugar, coffee grounds, rice bran, or any other similar abrasive ingredients combined with some massage or essential oil. The biggest advantage mechanical exfoliation has over chemical exfoliation is the easier access to ingredients. You can perform it at home with a muslin washcloth or any other scrub. You will see the results almost instantly. Do be warned if you perform the exfoliation incorrectly or too often you can cause damage to your skin.

Chemical exfoliation involves using various chemicals as peels to improve your skin. Chemical peels use enzymes, fruit (AHA), and beta-hydroxy acids (BHAS) that release glue-like substances and thus peel the skin while holding dead skin cells together. They can have a very gentle or very aggressive effect, depending on the strength and the type of ingredients they use. Commonly they are used for both your face and body. But of course, there is a difference between face and body exfoliants.

Chemical peels for your face are usually stronger than those for your body, those are gentler and most often use the enzymes of pineapples. Chemical exfoliation usually offers more dramatic and longer-lasting results than mechanical exfoliation. The bad side of it is that it can also cause damage to your skin, so if you are unsure about using a product or have side effects, talk to your dermatologist.

  • Best products for acne-prone skin

Now that you know what exfoliation is, let us present you our best two products to reach your desired effect of soft, glowing, and non-flaky skin.

  1. Clarifying Body Scrub with Calendula Extract

First off, we will cover Clarifying Body Scrub with Calendula Extract. A product of Hebe Botanica, famous for our 100% vegan products, it is fit for use on all skin types.

It doesn't matter if your skin is normal, dry, combined, or even oily, this product will exfoliate it like no other! Just scoop up a handful and apply to your skin and rinse the residue off in the shower. It creates a rich lather that doesn’t strip your natural oil.

This gentle exfoliant will leave your skin glowy, soft, and smooth, like a baby’s bosom. It’s rich in mineral-brown sugar and AHA glycolic acid. In other words, the silky smooth skin texture is guaranteed.

  1. Restorative Omega Body Oil

Unlike the body scrub, Restorative Omega Body Oil is a blend of various botanical oils meant for skin hydration.  This body oil contains omega 3, 5, 6, 7, and 9 fatty acids enriched with vitamin A derived from rosehip seed oil. Vitamin A is meant to prevent the appearance of stretch marks while also blurring uneven skin spots.

Like our Hebe Botanica scrub, you can use this body oil for normal, dry, combined, and oily skin. The best time to use this product is right after a shower. Apply it directly and generously on your skin and rub it in. It’s best used on dry on damp skin. Just like the aforementioned scrub, this body oil should only be used externally and not on skin with any irritations or injuries, if any signs of rash or irritations do appear discontinue the use of the body oil and consult with your dermatologist.

As you can assume, our restorative omega body oil is a mix of organic sunflower seed oil, apricot kernel oil, rice bran oil, and other oils as well.

It’s time to stop hiding under makeup and filters. Our products can help you with that.
